2024 South American Remote Solo Competition (RSC)

South America’s third annual video-submission solo piping and drumming competition concluded in November. Results and videos are posted on this page. The organizers and players are happy to see how this competition has grown since its inception in 2022.

The 2024 competition’s crown jewel was a new set of levels and categories for piobaireachd players. Although participation in piobaireachd was modest this year, the RSC’s long-term plan includes adding both current and new piobaireachd players. The Pan American Piobaireachd Society has been instrumental in making this vision a reality by supporting the RSC in designing the levels, categories and lists of required and recommended tunes.

Details of the 2025 RSC will be announced in early 2025, and registration is scheduled to open in September. Even though this is a South American competition, it is important to note that non-South American solo pipers and drummers can take part as feedback-only participants. This is a great opportunity for receiving adjudicators’ valuable feedback prior to upcoming competitions.
